BitMEX exchange News - In a historic move, former President Donald Trump issued pardons to BitMEX, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange operational since 2014, along with its three founders and a senior employee. The pardon nullified the exchange’s money laundering conviction stemming from a July 2024 guilty plea. Trump’s administration characterized BitMEX as a pivotal platform for U.S. financial innovation, framing the pardons as corrective action against an unjust legal process. Unlike the highly publicized pardon of Ross Ulbricht in January, these pardons were executed discreetly during Trump’s reelection campaign.
